Hello my name is Emma

Hello! My name is Emma and I am an experienced Occupational Therapist with ten years of experience working with children and adults. My passion is giving every child the best opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings including specialist educational schools and A&E. Since 2017, I have been a part of the Children's Community Team in the NHS. I am committed to providing the highest quality therapy services to help children achieve their goals.

Why I become an OT

I begun my university life studying a History with Theology and Religion degree! and quickly realised this would not lead to a career I wanted or would be passionate about.

I had always wanted to work with children and from the age of 13 volunteered with my local MENCAP Group on a Saturday morning and at the holiday club.

This is where my passion lay with helping children experience new and different things, helping them to achieve their potential in daily life and ensuring they have the correct support to do so.

So my research began and I discovered OT it encompassed everything I believed in and knew it was the path for me.

My special interests

I have a specialist interest in early intervention and believe it is through this we can help children reach their fullest potential, whatever their start in life, diagnosis or difficulties.

I also have a keen interest in woking with children with complex needs and supporting them to achieve their functional goals through therapy intervention and providing appropriate specialist equipment.

I love working in schools and helping both children and staff to see that sometimes the smallest changes can be the most effective to a child's learning and whole school experience.

My favourite occupation's outside of work

I love dancing and danced for many years in Ballroom and Latin American. Now I'm more of a strictly fan girl but give me some music and I'm always up for a boogie.

I also love walking and have completed two ultra marathons with a friend.

Reading is my other favourite occupation and Harry Potter is my go too. To me it's the best way to escape the craziness of life sometimes. "Hogwarts will always be home"
